Is a Haredi BDS movement inevitable?

Is the BDS (boycott, divestment and sanctions) movement going to grow - from within the Jewish community?

According to people behind the recent protests, limited as they were, regarding the arrest of the 3 yeshiva bochurim who didn't appear before the IDF draft board, those protests were just a promo. If this continues, they threaten to escalate the protests to levels never before seen in Israel. They claim to have world Haredi Jewry lining up behind them in support and preparing for a worldwide protest, if it should become necessary.

According to INN:
A global protest against mandatory enlistment could include an economic boycott, he said. “We know rich Jews around the world who support the state of Israel, who buy Israel bonds, who have investments here. They’ll withdraw from everything,” he said. “It will be a domino effect.”
“If they hit us where it hurts, we’ll do the same,” he warned.
Will they really have world Haredi Jewry behind them in a movement to topple Israel economically? And if they do divest from Israel, are they really invested so much in Israel that their divestment would be so deadly, from a financial perspective?

  1. Supporting a boycott of Israel will hurt Charedim the most. I don't think they want to do that. Those who are saying they should... aren't thinking!
