Proposed Law: no more "summer camps" for some

It is summertime and camp is what is on everybody's minds... find the right camp for the kids, make sure the kids will go to a camp that will be fun, have camps that cover the right parts of the long summer vacation, etc.

There are some people that have "camp" all year long, and other people want to put an end to that.

MK Oded Forer (Yisrael Beyteynu) has proposed a law by which the camps enjoyed by arrested Hamas terrorists in Israeli jails will no longer function like fun summer camps. His law proposal would take away the abundance of rights given to security prisoners in Israeli jails.

"taking away the abundance of rights" means not harming their basic human rights as guaranteed by international law but taking away their extra benefits. Examples of extra benefits that they would no longer enjoy, should the law pass, are education opportunities, canteen rights, television and game consoles, vacations, conjugal visits and the ability to receive clothes and other items from outside the prison.

Forer explains that these extras are not part of or protected by any international convention. His law would have us follow the law as per the international conventions we are signed on to and provide basic human rights that they deserve but stop the "summer camp" conditions that they have been given.
